‘Women of Song’ project to launch with Saturday writers’ round

JENKS – The multifaceted new “Women of Song: The Heart and Spirit of Oklahoma” project will launch with an outdoor songwriters’ round from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Maggie’s Music Box, 201 E Main Street in Jenks

The “Women of Song” project has been established to honor the female singers and songwriters at all professional levels. Several of the artists have been inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

Glenn Morgan, a local guitar maker, has handcrafted a gorgeous custom acoustic guitar for the “Women of Song” project. This one-of-a-kind, custom made guitar is a Dreadnought style with a mahogany back and sides and a sitka spruce top. Once each recording artist on the project has autographed the guitar, it will be auctioned off to help raise funds for the WOS project!

Glenn Morgan has made custom guitars for many artists and songwriters including Carrie Underwood, Ernie Ashworth, and Loretta Lynn. Glenn’s guitars have been on the Today Show, the Grand Ole Opry, and displayed in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Every guitar that Glen handcrafts is an original.
